LeBron James has left his mark in Manila, Philippines—literally.
After a fan showcase at the Mall of Asia Arena, James mingled with kids living at the Taguig Tenement while thousands of residents looked on from the respective floors of the abandoned building.
There, James had his hands imprinted in concrete that would be left behind with the tenement community whose basketball court had a larger-than-life image of James emblazoned on it.
“Visited this amazing place in Manila today. An abandoned parking garage that’s been taken over by more than 5,000 displaced family members,” James said in an Instagram photo of the court.
The four-time NBA MVP said that he is honored to have his image imprinted on the Tenement court, a place where some of the residents find solace as they play hoops.
“This basketball court is its heart and soul, and if it weren’t for basketball giving the kids a distraction from the bad influences around them the state would tear it down. Honored to have my likeness grace this space. Until next time, Philippines!"
